Notice from the Logan County Supervisor of Assessments

[August 20, 2014]  LINCOLN - The Logan County Assessor’s office would like to remind seniors they may be eligible for reduction in their property tax assessments.

For those who are 65 years of older and own and live in their property may be eligible for 2 exemptions, the Senior Citizen Homestead Exemption and the Senior Citizen Assessment Freese.

The Homestead Exemption can result in a reduction of the assessed value of the home property by $5,000.

The Senior Citizen Assessment Freese is for those who are age eligible and have a gross household annual income of $55,000 or less.

The assessor’s office also wants to advise the public it is currently working on updating photo records of Logan County properties.  As a result, homeowners may notice someone out taking photos of their property.  If anyone has questions or concerns about this, they should contact the assessor’s office at 217-732-9635.
