[August 20, 2014]  LINCOLN  - Helen Overbey, 95, of Lincoln, passed away at 4:12 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Symphony of Lincoln.

Visitation: Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Obituary

Helen Overbey, 95, of Lincoln, passed away at 4:12 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Symphony of Lincoln.

Helen was born on August 31, 1918, in Auburn, IL, daughter of Alvis Zepho and Emma Grace Colwell Laughner. She was united in marriage to Ira F. Overbey on May 27, 1938, in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death in September of 1987. Helen is survived by her children: Darlene Naugle of Lawndale, IL; David (Luana) Overbey of Kingsland, TX; Tommy (Linda K.) Overbey of Chestnut, IL; and her sister: Mary Jane Dunn of Springfield, IL; and also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter: Sharon Ealy, and sister: Marguerite Overbey.



 

Helen worked for 18 years at the US Corrugated Box Factory as a tape operator and she retired in 1981. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Lincoln.

Services for Helen will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday August 18, 2014 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln with Robert Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday August 17, 2014 also at the funeral home. Burial at Elkhart Cemetery will follow the service. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
