Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Human Society of Logan County thanks supporters

To the editor:

Thank you to all who made the Humane Society of Logan County’s garage sale a huge success again this year.  The response to our request for donations was more amazing than ever. Every item donated contributed to our success.  Volunteers dedicated hundreds of hours, starting with months of planning, sorting, pricing and displaying the goods.  Some set up the spaces, moved tables, moved furniture, and did the heavy lifting.   Our business partners helped defray our costs with donations of storage space, food and drink, items for the sale, and help with supplies. The local news media greatly assisted us with promoting our event. To top it all off, three days of perfect weather brought out lots of treasure hunters who went home with great bargains.  We thank you all.

Your continuing support of our programs is making a difference in the lives of homeless and neglected animals. Forever Home Pet Cemetery, our newest project, is now open and we invite you to take a walk around the beautiful grounds.  The membership drive and shelter animal birthday party is Saturday, June 28 from 10-2.  Please come and see what your support has helped us accomplish.
