Just a little more than one week after having pacemaker implant surgery, Arnold Palmer is back to work near his Latrobe, Pa., home.

The golfing icon, who had surgery on Aug. 18 at a Pittsburgh hospital, turns 85 on Sept. 10 and plans to play as soon as his doctors allow. The pacemaker was implanted to correct an abnormal heartbeat.

Palmer said he's itching to get back on the course.

"My back has been bothering me some, but this has more to do with the swing and the fact that the pacemaker is in my shoulder," Palmer told ESPN. "(My doctors) don't want me to disrupt the wiring that is in there. So I'll wait for the doctors to say it's OK."
