 On Saturday Austin competed in the West Coast Submission
Fighting Championship. He finished third in the No Gi division
and won the Championship in his first ever Gi competition.
Austin trains in Springfield with Mixed Martial Arts Hall of
Famer Scot Ward and his team of fighters at Warrior Concepts.
Austin entered the tournament ranked as the No. one submission
fighter in his age group and weight in both Illinois and the
Midwest. He is also ranked fifth in the Nation, by
NationallyRanked.com after great showings this summer in
Detroit, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Houston, Nashville and
Louisville.
Austin is the son of T.J. Swarts of Lincoln and Nikole Swarts of
Lincoln.
