[December 03, 2014]  NEW HOLLAND - Cheryl Lynn Himes, 61, of New Holland, passed away November 29, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Holland, Barry & Bennett Funeral Home

Obituary

Cheryl Lynn Himes, 61, of New Holland, passed away November 29, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Irish Grove Cemetery.

Cheryl was born April 11, 1953 in Springfield, the daughter of Richard Raymond Skelton and Mabel Ruth (Wilson) Skelton. She was employed at Eureka Williams in Bloomington for 18 years. She also worked at the Labor Hall 362 in Bloomington for 3 years, for Precision Local 477 for 7 years, and was most recently employed at Eaton.

She enjoyed crafts and sewing and playing her keyboard. She was the most happy when she was spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her mother Mabel Skelton (Bill Quast) of Middletown; her children: Tracy Williams (Timothy Haney) of Heyworth, Stacy Fleming (Jeffrey Kelly) of Bloomington, and Frank Johnson (Brandy Bagby) of Springfield; her siblings: Dick and Deb Skelton of Lincoln, Jenny and Harold Stout of Middletown, Jackie Poole of Mason City, Carol Renfro of Middletown,

Sharon Marcum of Washington State, Deb and Bud Frakes of Middletown, Syb and Joe Liesman of Hartsburg, Billy Skelton of Middletown, Kelly and Rick Hoffert of Middletown, Tim and Judy Skelton of Mason City, and Rusty and Stacey Skelton of Middletown.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and her siblings: Pip Skelton, Patsy Skelton, Kasey Brooks, Jerry Skelton, Deany Baker, Ruth Ann Hoffert, and Joe Skelton.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be used to purchase a grave marker. They will be accepted at the funeral home.
