[December 05, 2014]  Effective January 1, 2015, Jonathan Wright has been re-appointed to serve as a temporary member of the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Jury Instructions in Criminal Cases.

Wright was previously appointed as a temporary member of the Committee in 2014. The new appointment extends his service as a temporary member for one additional year. “It is a great honor to be asked to serve on this Committee. The work benefits the criminal justice system throughout the State of Illinois – including Logan County,” stated Wright.

Upon assignment from the Illinois Supreme Court, the Committee reviews Illinois Pattern Jury Instructions in criminal cases and makes recommendations regarding the same. The Illinois Pattern Instructions are used by courts to instruct jurors as to the law in a specific case. The Committee is comprised of judges and attorneys appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court.
