[December 06, 2014]  LINCOLN - For the 70th year, Logan County residents can have the opportunity to give some Christmas Cheer to an ailing or aging veteran in nursing home care.

The American Legion’s "Gifts for Yanks Who Gave", ensures that no Logan County veteran, residing in a Logan County nursing home, is forgotten during the Christmas season.

Each year our citizens respond generously to this program as a way of thanking men and women who have served in the armed forces of our great nation.

This year the American Legion is once again asking that local folks open their hearts this season, dig a little deeper, and help support those who have assured our freedom throughout the history of this great country.

Let us once again respond to this program and show these men and women that we do care.

Contributions to support this worthy cause can be mailed to

Donations are appreciated and will be used for Christmas gifts for hospitalized veterans from Logan County.

Every possible effort is made to see that each veteran receives a gift. But it is possible that a nursing home in our area is not aware of the veteran’s service.

If your loved one is in a Logan County nursing home and did not receive a gift please contact Lincoln Legion at 732-3743 and one will be delivered.
