WLB Wolverines drop two on the road

[December 10, 2014]  LINCOLN - On Monday evening, the West Lincoln-Broadwell Wolverines were awarded two wins by forfeit versus Springfield Little Flower Catholic School.

Tuesday evening the Wolverines traveled across town to face the Panthers of Chester-East Lincoln Tuesday night, and lost two closely contested battles.

In the 7th grade game, WLB (11-1) lost 46-43 behind Kaden Froebe with 15 points, eight assists, and five steals while Kameron Whiteman grabbed seven rebounds to go along with 12 points. Also scoring for the Wolverines in the loss was; Dreyden Pozgai (9), Payton Anderson (5), and Justin Long (2).

In the nightcap, WLB (6-6) lost 48-42. They were led by Froebe with 15 while Shane Shumard netted 14 and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. Blain Robbins (7), Kade Schmidt (4), and Whiteman (2) also scored for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines will next play at home on Tuesday, December 16th versus Springfield Calvary and then host Morton Blessed Sacrament the next night, Wednesday, December 17th.

The 17th will also be 8th grade night at WLB. Five 8th grade players will be honored during the evening; Blain Robbins, Shane Shumard, Kade Schmidt, Dawson Ferguson, and Virat Patel, for their years of hard work and dedication to the program.

This week's Thursday night home game versus the Carroll Catholic Crusaders has been rescheduled for Monday, January 12th.

At the game on January 12th, WLB will recognize the 2nd through 5th grade biddy ball teams between the 7th and 8th grade contests.
