Wolverines split pair at home

[December 16, 2014]  LINCOLN - On Tuesday, the Springfield Calvary Academy Saints came to play in Lincoln against the West Lincoln-Broadwell Wolverines. The Saints split the night, losing the 7th grade competition but coming back to take the 8th grade win.

In the opener, the 7th grade Wolverines (12-1) won 60-21.

Kaden Froebe led all scorers with a career high 39 points. Payton Anderson, Kameron Whiteman, Dreyden Pozsgai, and Lucas Konczyk each added 4 points each, Justin Long had 3, and Joe Dalpoas added 2.


In the nightcap, the 8th grade Wolverines (6-7) fell 51-40 to the Saints.

Froebe again led the way with 14 while handing out 6 assists.

Rounding out the scoring for WLB was Blain Robbins (8), Shane Shumard (6), Whiteman (6), Kade Schmidt (4), and Pozsgai (2).

The Wolverines will host the Tars of Morton Blessed Sacrament on Wednesday where they will celebrate 8th grade night between the two games.

All WLB 8th grade basketball players and cheerleaders will be honored along with their parents and thanked for their contributions to their respective teams and programs.
