The public is invited to Camp Griesheim's Annual Meeting to be held on Sunday, September 15 at 5 p.m. in their main facility in Atlanta, Illinois.  Refreshments and fellowship will follow the meeting.

St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln is sponsoring a Christian Carnival on Sunday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The activities will be on the church's parking lot, at the corner of Eighth and Maple streets.

The public is invited. All ages are welcome to join in the games, snacks, songs, stories and more fun -- and win prizes, too -- all for free.

For answers to questions about the event, call the church office, 732-6957.

The carnival is sponsored by the St. John Christian Education Ministry.

SPONSOR: Logan County Love
WHO: Open to everyone
DETAILS: Logan County Love will once again provide a free meal to anyone wishing to join. If you are interested, please stop by and introduce yourself as the group would love to see everyone in the community. Come hungry and leave fulfilled. For this month, the meal will include chicken and noodles. If you are unable to drive but would like a meal, call the church, 217-732-6957, between 5 and 6 pm.

December 24 – Christmas Eve Service – 6:00 pm

 Worship includes Advent Readings, music by Pat Anderson, performances by the children & grandchildren of the congregation, a special moment with the pastor and children in the congregation, and a Nativity Christmas Program by the Sunday School class. Treat bags will be provided for the children after the service.

Each Saturday night during the season of Advent (12/20) Advent Vespers: A Saturday Night Spiritual Formation Opportunity - , you are invited to participate in the communal practice of contemplative waiting. Centered on silence, with readings from many Christian traditions, we will gather around an advent wreath to prayerfully and reflectively consider that for which we are waiting: the arrival of Emmanuel, God with us. The service begins at 5pm and will last 45 minutes. Each service will be held in Union Chapel.

December 21Christmas Cantata
During worship on December 21st at 10am, the choir will be presenting their annual cantata. The service will include instrumentalists and narrators to retell the story of Christ’s birth and to present a reminder of the comfort and joy we have in the miracle of grace. Mark your calendars and plan to attend this special service of music and praise.

December 24 - Christmas Eve Candlelight Service The Advent season culminates on this night: join us at 7pm at First Presbyterian Church as we celebrate the nativity of the Christ child. We welcome you to our Christmas Eve service, as our hopeful waiting becomes a fulfilled promise that God was, is, and always will be among us!
