[December 20, 2014]  Dec 19 (The Sports Xchange) - A sprained ankle was expected to keep Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant on the sideline for the Thunder's game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

Durant sprained his right ankle just before halftime Thursday against the Golden State Warriors. He is listed as day to day. The ankle will be re-evaluated Saturday, the team said.

Before the injury, Durant scored 30 points in the first half against the Warriors.

After the Lakers game, the Thunder's next game is on Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Houston Rockets reportedly acquired guard/forward Corey Brewer from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
 


Houston also will receive forward Ronny Turiaf and Minnesota will get guard Troy Daniels and two future second-round picks, sources told Yahoo Sports. Turiaf, who is out for the season after recent hip surgery, could be traded to a third team, Yahoo reported.

Brewer, 28, is averaging 10.5 points and 3.9 rebounds this season.

The Atlanta Hawks assigned forward/center Mike Muscala to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League.

Muscala, 23, has appeared in eight games with the Hawks this season, averaging 4.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 10 minutes.

The Los Angeles Lakers recalled guard Jordan Clarkson from the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Developmental League.

Clarkson, 22, has averaged 4.5 points in 13 games for the Lakers this season.

The Memphis Grizzlies sent rookie forward/center Jarnell Stokes to Iowa of the NBA Development League for the third time this season.

Stokes has played in nine games for the Grizzlies this season and has 20 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots. (Editing by Gene Cherry)
