[December 29, 2014]  LINCOLN - Animal Control Committee, Blue Room – Logan County Safety Complex September 10, 2014

Present: Kevin Bateman; Andy Anderson; David Hepler; Emily Davenport; Chuck Ruben; Jan Schumacher

Absent: Julie Parker

Guests:

Mr. Bateman called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.

A motion was made by Mrs. Davenport, seconded by Mr. Hepler to approve the minutes from August 13, 2014 as printed. Motion passed.

Old Business:

Ordinance Revisions: A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mrs. Schumacher, to submit to the board and State’s Attorney for review this month and vote on the ordinance in October. Motion passed.

End of old business

New Business:

Mr. Bateman reported animal control has been working on some maintenance projects. Mr. Bateman would like to hire someone full time to help out at Animal Control. The committee discussed many possibilities to address the need. Mrs. Parker is going to get a credit card machine in the Treasurer’s office, to allow customers to pay with their credit cards. Mr. Bateman received a phone call from Joni Tibbs to thank Mrs. Parker for a handling a situation for her on a holiday weekend.

Administrator/Warden’s report: Mrs. Parker reported Animal Control ran a special last month. During the special Animal Control had 10 cat adopted out. LCAR paid $20 each and residents paid $50 each during the promotion. LCAR paid a total of $225. Mr. Bateman reviewed the Animal Control call sheet. Mr. Bateman pointed out 60 animals were picked up in the City of Lincoln in a month time frame. Nothing further to report.

Budget: No concerns.

A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mr. Ruben, to pay the bills as presented for payment. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Anderson, seconded by Mr. Davenport to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 6:54 pm.
