[February 01, 2014]  The Lincoln Christian University Red Lions women's basketball team (5-9) hosted the Eutectics of St. Louis College of Pharmacy (2-10) in Gaston Arena on Thursday night in front of an energetic crowd that backed the home team to its sixth win of the season.

The ladies from Lincoln Christian controlled the game from beginning to end, rolling out to a comfortable 12-point lead over the visitors by the half, when the Red Lions went into the locker room up 44-32. While the second half wasn't as productive offensively for either team, LCU controlled the pace and stretched the lead to a final score of 68-49.

Junior guard Tatiana Colclasure (Effingham/Effingham High) had a stellar game with four buckets from outside the arc, a 57 percent 3-point percentage, and led all scorers with 26 points. Senior guard Moriah Kirkpatrick (Mount Vernon/John A. Logan CC) also made a double-digit contribution with 12, followed by senior forward Sopha Hughes (Chicago/Oblong High) with 10 points.

The men's and women's teams were scheduled to host Kuyper College on Saturday, along with the induction of two new members to the LCU Athletic Hall of Fame, but the games and induction ceremony have been postponed due to weather.
