[January 31, 2014]  Lincoln Christian University will host its annual Hall of Fame inductions and men's alumni basketball game on Saturday at the Laughlin Center. Everyone is invited to this free public event.

The day's events will open with the men's alumni game at 10 a.m. LCU alumni will have the opportunity to showcase their finesse against athletes from varying generations of the Preachers and now the Red Lions basketball squad. Notable Red Lions alumni participating include Brady Cremeens, all-time LCU 3-point record holder, and current athletic director and men's basketball head coach Mac Ingmire, fourth in all-time assists and second in steals.

Following the alumni game, the Red Lions will take on the Kuyper College Cougars, with the women's game beginning at 1 p.m. and the men's game at 3 p.m.

The Hall of Fame ceremony will commence after the women's game, at approximately 2:45 p.m. This year's inductees are baseball notables Tim Knight (1980-1984) and David Lingle (1985-1986). Both men were starters for their baseball squads.

During his career, Knight had a .402 batting average, with an on-base percentage of .485 and an average of 1.13 hits per game. Lingle had a career batting average of .470, an on-base percentage of .518, 36 single-season hits, 30 single-season runs and six single-season home runs.

Guests are invited to cheer the Red Lions on, congratulate the inductees or just brag about the old days.

Any alumni men still interested in competing should contact Mac Ingmire at 217-732-3168, ext. 2224, to check status of team openings.
