Nichols is coming off a very impressive prep career at Newark High
School. She is currently fourth on their all-time list for career
kills at 570 and fifth in total digs with 589. As a senior, Nichols
was able to lead her team to an impressive 27-7 regular-season
record, a Class 1A regional championship, as well as a Little Ten
Conference title. During her senior year, Nichols posted impressive
statistics, including 226 kills, 54 serving aces and 255 digs,
leading to a spot on the all-area team named by The Times, of
Ottawa. LCU head coach Dave Donnelly had this to say about the
signing: "I am very excited that Kristina has joined the Red Lions.
She is a excellent hitter and passer. Kristina will be a great
addition to the team. I am anxious to get in the gym and start
working with her and the rest of the team."
