Letters to the Editor

Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community.

Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor:

I noticed that you posted items from Illinois Watchdog as state news. I also noticed how consistently one-sided the items were that I wondered what they were doing being labeled "news" and not opinion.

It turns out Illinois Watchdog is not a news organization, but a political organization created to put out one-sided articles that should not be labeled as news. It is funded by a group that calls itself Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity.

Note from LDN publisher: We appreciate Mr. Muller's observation, and agree with him that Illinois Watchdog should go under the opinion section. You can continue to find Illinois Watchdog under the LDN Perspectives.
