Lincoln College athletics report

[February 10, 2014]  Below are reports from Lincoln College men's basketball, women's basketball and wrestling last week.

Men's basketball, Feb. 3

The Lincoln College men's basketball team lost to the Illinois Wesleyan JV 71-63.

Coach Lepper's comment: "You have to give credit to IWU JV. They are a very good team. Our guys hung in there, but we run out of firepower."

Leading scorers for the Lynx were Henry Hicks with 13 points and Avery Perry with 12.

Women's basketball, Feb. 5

The Lincoln College women's basketball team lost to Illinois Central College 64-33. Kaitlin Snyder led the Lynx in scoring with eight points.

Wrestling, Feb. 6

Lincoln College wrestlers had a dual meet with Knox College at Memorial Gymnasium in Galesburg.

Match scoring:

• 125 — Leslie Williams (LC) pinned Matt Sugai (KC), :32.

• 133 — Jewell Webb (LC) pinned Rich Thomsen (KC), 1:34.

• 141 — Enoch McCottrel (LC) won by forfeit (KC).

• 149 — Rook Kassabaum (LC) won by forfeit (KC).

• 157 — Double forfeit.

• 165 — Kyle Heller (KC) defeated Luke Dunn (LC) 9-6.

• 174 — Archie William (LC) defeated Greg Ventris (KC) 12-7.

• 184 — Dakota Downs (LC) pinned Matt Surprenant (KC), 6:00.

• 197 — Stephon Rudicil (LC) pinned Ruben Villalobos (KC), 2:20.

• Hwt. — DeQuence Goodman (LC) pinned Joe Chirbas (KC), 2:28.
