[February 27, 2014]  The Lincoln College Jazz Band will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the Meyer stage in the Johnston Center for Performing Arts on the Lincoln campus. This will be the band's final public performance before traveling to Florida to perform at Walt Disney World later in March.

The concert will feature the lab band, saxophone quartet and the Jazz Ensemble performing the music they will play at Disney World, including Stan Kenton's "Malaguena," Gordon Goodwin's "Sing, Sang, Sung" and Maynard Ferguson's "MacArthur Park."

"The music selections are very difficult," said band director Scott Woger. "This will be a casual evening of jazz to give the band an opportunity to play these tunes with a live audience and to give the audience a chance to hear the music for the upcoming Disney trip."

Admission to the concert is free; however, donations will be accepted. Proceeds will be used for expenses associated with the band's trip to Florida.
