Keith H. Wilham Sr.

[February 27, 2014]  MOUNT PULASKI — Keith H. Wilham Sr., 90, of Mt. Pulaski passed away at 10:38 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Keith H. Wilham Sr., 90, of Mount Pulaski passed away at 10:38 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. 

Keith was born on February 2, 1924 in Mount Pulaski, the son of Alfred and Blanche Eschbach Wilham. He was united in marriage to Jennie “Boots” Mapes on December 24, 1943 in Detroit, MI. She survives him in Mount Pulaski. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Other survivors include his children: Keith H. Wilham Jr of Redmond, WA; Stephen L. (Patricia) Wilham of Newalla, OK; Sandra E. Wilham of Mount Pulaski; Darla G. (Rick) Irwin of Springfield, IL; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Roger, and his brothers and sisters .

Keith served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Mount Pulaski Christian Church and American Legion Post # 447, charter member of VFW Post #777, member of the Lions Club, Elks Club, was the owner and operator of Wilham Construction, and at one time was the largest employer in the Mount Pulaski area. He served on the Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department for 30 years, the last 10 of which he served as assistant chief for 5 years and chief for 5 years.

Services for Keith will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 4, 2014 at the Mount Pulaski Family Life Center with Mark Weber officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday March 4, 2014 also at the Family Life Center. Memorials may be made to the Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department. Burial at Mount Pulaski Cemetery will follow the service where full military rites will be accorded.
