Hampton announces purchase of Lincoln Holiday Inn Express

[January 04, 2014]  Champaign Hotel Ventures, current owner and operator of the award-winning Hampton Inn – Lincoln, has announced the acquisition of the Holiday Inn Express of Lincoln. The Holiday Inn Express offers 69 guest rooms/suites and employs approximately 20 full- and part-time associates. Part of InterContinental Hotel Group, the Holiday Inn Express offers an indoor, heated swimming pool, fitness center, hotelwide WiFi, a full hot breakfast and large meeting space.

Damon Priddy, general manager of Hampton Inn – Lincoln, will manage both Lincoln properties.

"We truly value the support we have received from the Lincoln and Logan County community!" Priddy said. "We look forward to future plans for improvement to the property and offering Lincoln and the surrounding area another first-class property!"

Planned improvements include structural and cosmetic exterior repairs, guest room renovations, extensive improvements to the indoor pool area, and much more. More information regarding renovation plans will be released at a later date.

Rick McGraw, manager of Champaign Hotel Ventures LLC, based in Springfield, said: "We are delighted to be acquiring this property, which will fit very efficiently into our existing portfolio of quality midsized properties. The Lincoln and Logan County area has proven to be a very supportive and growing community."

The purchase will increase the Hotel Ventures portfolio to nine properties located in central Illinois, southern Indiana and St. Charles, Mo. Hotel Ventures Management currently operates Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Baymont and Wingate by Wyndam brands, as well as a boutique independent hotel.
