[January 08, 2014]  The Lincoln office of the National Weather Service released the following weather outlook at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday for the central Illinois counties of Cass, DeWitt, Fulton, Knox, Logan, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Morgan, Peoria, Sangamon, Schuyler, Scott, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford:

Wednesday and Wednesday night

There will be a chance for a period of light snow later Wednesday morning into the afternoon hours as a weak weather disturbance moves across the area. At this time it appears any accumulations will be less than an inch.

Thursday through Tuesday

A couple of storm systems will move into the region over the next several days. The first weather disturbance will bring the threat for light snow accumulations on Thursday. In addition, there is a chance of light freezing rain or freezing drizzle Thursday afternoon and again early Friday morning before the wintry precipitation changes over to all rain Friday afternoon.
