[January 08, 2014]  McLEAN Sugar Grove Nature Center has announced three January programs:

Little Wonders: Winter Tracks

Ages 3-5 with an adult chaperone

Wednesday, Jan. 15, 10-11:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m.

Whose footprints are those in the snow? (Or mud ...) Which way are they going? Learn all about tracks, have fun creating a craft, then head outside to find out who has been walking in the woods. A snack will be provided.

Backyard Sugaring

Saturday, Jan. 18, 1-2:30 p.m.

Ages 16 and up

Have you ever thought about tapping that maple tree in your yard? Learn how with instructor Jim Wilson, who has been transforming sap from his backyard into syrup for years. This program will give you the basics and direct you to the resources needed to turn your kitchen or garage into a sap house.

Fee: $5 for nature center members, $8 for nonmembers. Registration required.
