Shirley Schumm

[January 14, 2014]  BLOOMINGTON — Shirley A. Schumm, 86, of Bloomington, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

Bloomington -- Shirley A. Schumm, 86, of Bloomington, died on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Heritage Health in Bloomington.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Schumm will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Bloomington. Rev. Dr. Jim Warren will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014, at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta.

Burial will be at Funks Grove Cemetery, rural McLean.

Shirley A. Beyer was born August 11, 1927, in Mason, Ill., the daughter of Hugh and Berneice Long Beyer. She married Earl D. Schumm on August 4, 1944, in Henry, Ill. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2010.

Shirley is survived by her children: Charlotte (Ben) Feist of Bloomington; Rebecca (Dan) Lindsey of Maroa; Cheryl Robbins of Bloomington; Phyllis Lessen of Sheridan, Ill.; Larry Earl (Linda) Schumm of Chestnut; and Judith (William) Bartels of Greendale, Wis.; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral Director

Mrs. Schumm was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers.

Shirley was a member of the First Christian Church in Bloomington and the Women of the Moose. She had worked as a Scale Attendant for the State of Illinois.

Memorials may be made to Heritage Health or First Christian Church, both of Bloomington.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
