[January 21, 2014]  MIDDLETOWN — The service learning project for January and February at New Holland-Middletown District 88 is for the Humane Society of Logan County.

Students in each grade are encouraged to donate pet food, treats, cat litter, leashes, toys or any items on the Humane Society's "Wish List" (PDF).

This year the school will also give a percentage of the donations to a not-for-profit rescue group in Washington, Ill., that is helping rescue pets from the devastating tornado that left many pets lost and homeless.

The community is encouraged to help by leaving donations in the school district's office at Middletown.
