MOUNT PULASKI — Over the last few months, while it was under construction, the people of the Mount Pulaski community anxiously awaited the arrival of the new Casey's General Store. In time spent in town, the topic usually came up from a few people. Some said they were looking forward to another source for fuel; others anticipated the Casey's doughnuts and coffee they could grab as they were leaving town or coming in. Some were excited about the famous Casey's pizza.

For the community itself, this is a great opportunity for them to reap the benefits of a new business in town. The store will bring a quick-stop location for folks commuting between Lincoln and Decatur, thus generating sales and sales tax from nonresidents as well as residents of the community.

Mount Pulaski has the newest style Casey store. Here they have pizzas,
subs and sides ready to go.

The cash registers were ringing as visitors were checking out the store and checking out their purchases.

Several take time to check out the aisles and also stop and chat a bit with friends.

Mount Pulaski Mayor Jim Fuhrer was on hand for the ribbon-cut and took time to walk the aisles and visit with constituents.

It was a busy day in spite of the frigid cold. Those at the store expressed that the community is pleased to have Casey's come to their area.

Members of the Casey's leadership team are excited and happy to have the opportunity to serve Mount Pulaski.  They invite everyone to stop in and say hello.

The new convenience store is at 802 N. Topper Drive in Mount Pulaski, just off the curve on Route 121.
