[July 02, 2014]  LINCOLN -Geraldine Miller, 93, of Lincoln passed away at 5:25 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Christian Village, Lincoln.

Visitation: 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to services.

Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 3, 2014 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Obituary

Geraldine A. (Geri) Miller, 93, of Lincoln passed away at 5:25 a.m. Monday June 30, 2014 at The Christian Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Geri was born on July 8, 1920 in Lincoln to Otto and Josephine Bell Lohrenz.  She married John H. Miller on June 1, 1937.  He preceded her in death in 1979.  Geri was a homemaker and worked at Lehn and Fink in Lincoln for 25 years.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Lincoln Woman’s Club and a past member of the Lincoln Elk’s Emblem Club.  She volunteered at the Methodist Church and local nursing homes.  Geri loved to cook and would be able to whip up anything if someone happened to stop by.  She enjoyed watching her family grow and attended many of their athletic and music activities.  She also loved to play cards especially Pinochle.

Geri is survived by her son, Dr. Robert C. (Rita) Miller of Bloomington, daughter, Barbara Rodgers of Mason City, seven grandchildren, David (Susan) Rodgers, Dawn (Mike) Wood, Debbie Rodgers, Brandon Miller, Jay Miller, Allyson (Jeff) Wolfe and Kristin Miller, seven great grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler, Kayla, Calvin, Talia, Kyle (Jennifer), Jason (Clare), and five great-great grandchildren, Dyson, Eleanor, Ben, Emma and Ethan and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Jack and two sisters, Evelyn Frohling and Mary Lou Slayton. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 3, 2014 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln with Ryan Edgecombe officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to services.  There will be private family graveside services at a later date with Rev. Larry Maffett officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Lincoln United Methodist Church, Christian Village or to Memorial Home Hospice.
