 07/14/2014 MLB Note - Miami Marlins Ramos, A.J.

RHP A.J. Ramos (right shoulder inflammation) began a rehab assignment with Double-A Jacksonville on Monday, allowing one run in one inning. He gave up two hits and struck out one. Ramos is expected back shortly after the All-Star break.

MLB Note - Arizona Diamondbacks Bolsinger, Mike

RHP Mike Bolsinger was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Monday, three days after his second consecutive poor outing. Bolsinger was touched for eight hits and five runs in five innings Friday against San Francisco, one start after giving up 10 hits and seven runs against the Atlanta Braves. He is 1-6 with a 5.50 ERA in 10 games (nine starts) for Arizona this year.

MLB Note - Arizona Diamondbacks Cahill, Trevor

RHP Trevor Cahill earned his way back to the majors, as the Diamondbacks recalled him from Triple-A Reno on Monday. In seven minor league starts after being demoted in mid-June, Cahill went 2-4 with a 4.45 ERA. He was 1-6 with a 5.66 ERA in 19 appearances (four starts) for Arizona earlier this year.

MLB Note - Minnesota Twins Santana, Danny

SS Danny Santana (left knee deep bone bruise) began a rehab assignment with Class A Fort Myers on Monday, going 0-for-3. Santana last played for the Twins on June 25. He could be activated Friday when the Twins resume play after the All-Star break.

MLB Note - Oakland Athletics Reddick, Josh

RF Josh Reddick (strained right knee) went 4-for-4 with a two-run homer, three RBIs and a walk Monday in his first rehab game for Class A Stockton. He could be activated shortly after the All-Star break.

MLB Note - Toronto Blue Jays Wallace, Brett

INF Brett Wallace, who was playing for Triple-A Norfolk, was traded from the Baltimore organization to the Toronto organization for cash. Wallace, who had a major league stint with the the Blue Jays in 2010 in addition to playing for the Cardinals and the Astros, was hitting .265/.329/.389 with 10 homers and 35 RBIs through 90 games for Norfolk this year.

MLB Note - Baltimore Orioles Wolf, Randy

LHP Randy Wolf was released by the Orioles after he opted out of his minor league contract. He had no decisions and a 4.20 ERA in six games (one start) for Triple-A Norfolk. Wolf, 37, made a comeback from a second Tommy John surgery earlier this year, going 1-3 with a 5.26 ERA in six games (four starts) for Miami.

MLB Note - Atlanta Braves Uggla, Dan

INF Dan Uggla was activated from his one-game suspension Monday. He reportedly showed up late to Saturday's game at Wrigley Field. Uggla, 34, is batting .162 with two homers and 10 RBIs in 48 games.

MLB Note - Atlanta Braves Gosselin, Phil

INF Phil Gosselin was optioned back to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday after a one-game stay with the Braves. He did not appear in a game. He was promoted to fill in for 2B Dan Uggla, who received a one-game suspension. Gosselin was hitting a team-leading .345 with 27 doubles and 171 total bases for Gwinnett.

MLB Note - New York Yankees Soriano, Alfonso

RF Alfonso Soriano, designated for assignment by the Yankees on July 6, was released Monday. Soriano, 38, hit .221/.244/.367 with six home runs over 67 games this season.

MLB Note - New York Yankees Mitchell, Bryan

RHP Bryan Mitchell, called up from Double-A Trenton before Sunday's game, was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday. He didn't get into a game with New York. Mitchell, 23, was 2-5 with a 4.84 ERA in 14 games (13 starts) for Trenton. He made one start for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre earlier this season, pitching four scoreless innings.

MLB Note - Seattle Mariners Beavan, Blake

RHP Blake Beavan began a rehab assignment with Class A High Desert on Monday, allowing two runs in two innings. He landed on the 15-day disabled list April 16 due to right shoulder stiffness, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 30.

MLB Note - Pittsburgh Pirates Decker, Jaff

OF Jaff Decker was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday. During his latest major league stint, he struck out Sunday in his lone at-bat. On the season, he is 0-for-5 with three strikeouts in five big league games.

MLB Note - San Diego Padres Vincent, Nick

RHP Nick Vincent (right shoulder fatigue) began a rehab assignment with Class A Lake Elsinore on Monday, throwing one scoreless inning. He struck out three and did not allow a baserunner. Vincent is expected to return to the Padres shortly after the All-Star break.
