[July 22, 2014]  MOUNT PULASKI - The Mount Pulaski Community band will hold an evening performance Wednesday July 23 on the historic Mount Pulaski Courthouse lawn, in the bandstand.

Mount Pulaski adult bands go back to the mid-1800’s when its brass band played for Abraham Lincoln’s speech promoting the candidacy of Col. John C. Fremont at Atlanta’s Union Hall in October of 1856.

The Wednesday evening performance will begin at 7 p.m. The public is invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening under the stars. Those older citizens who wish to, may park on the south side of the square and hear the music from their cars.

This performance will feature the trombone section and will also be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the movie “Footloose”.

Some the selections that will be played are:

Half Step March
Ascentium
