[July 21, 2014]  LINCOLN — Rodney Lee Greathouse, 51, of Broadwell,  passed away July 10, 2014 at home surrounded by his friends and family.

Visitation: 10  to 11 a.m., Saturday, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home

Service: Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Obituary

Rodney Lee Greathouse, 51, of Broadwell, IL passed away July 10, 2014 at home surrounded by his friends and family.

A time of visitation will be from 10 AM until 11Am on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 11 AM with Ron Otto officiating.

Rodney was born May 16, 1963 in Lincoln, IL, the son of Robert Greathouse and Joan (Sanders) Greathouse.

He graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1981. He worked for Alexander Lumber Company for 28 years. He enjoyed hunting, sports--the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears, and the Cincinnati Reds, NASCAR, fishing, and spending time with his son.

Surviving are his grandmother Evelyn Brown of FL., Son Ryan J. Greathouse of NC., Ryan’s mother Janet Huser also of NC., step children Anthony Lowe of IL. and Kayla Lowe Filson of IL., brother Randy (Peggy) Greathouse of CA., brother Robert (Marilyn) Greathouse of IL, sister Judie Herda of WI., sister Janice (Dwayne) McNutt of IL., brother in law Dennis Moore of IL., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Rebecca Moore.

Memorial donations may be made to Ryan Greathouse in care of his mother Janet Huser and will be accepted at the funeral home.
