Obituary

Christy L. Stone died July 19th 2014, in Bloomington, IL.

Christy was born December 25, 1965, in Lincoln, a very special Christmas present and daughter to her parents James Robert and Linda Sue Cole Stone. She married Dayne Ray Altman on October 24, 1987 but later divorced.

Christy is survived by her son Aaron Dayne Altman of Lincoln, her parents of Lincoln, four sisters: Karen (Jim) Trimberger of Chatham, Carol (Jeff) Sheley of Littleton, Cindy (Mark) Gunter of New Holland, Mary Stone of Lincoln, one brother: James Stone Jr. of Lincoln, one foster sister: Carol (Bob) Knuth of Taylor-Mills Kentucky, aunts and an uncle, and many nieces and nephews.

Christy attended New Holland-Middletown School and later transferred to New Wine Christian School where she graduated.

Christy attended the First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln. She was a volunteer at the local food pantry and her love for animals also led her to be a member of the Humane Society of Logan County.

Christy was employed in the food industry and social services. She had a passion for working with children and the elderly. She was a child advocate and Big Sister to many. She received her CNA license and became an advocate for the elderly. Throughout her life she enjoyed helping others and always gave unselfishly.

Christy had many interests. Her favorite was watching her beloved son Aaron participate in the many sports he enjoyed. She was one of his biggest fans. Christy enjoyed art and had created several art pieces. She enjoyed being outdoors and growing flowers.

The legacy she leaves and the lives she touched will forever remain in the hearts of many, especially her family.

Private memorial services will be held at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
