Three Logan County women win American Legion nursing scholarships

[July 28, 2014]  LINCOLN - Three Logan County women were awarded $1,000 Nurses Scholarships at the American Legion Department Convention July 10th in Springfield. The scholarships were sponsored by the American legion Auxiliary, Department of Illinois Past Presidents Parley.  

Jacquiline Martincic was sponsored by Logan Unit # 263 of Lincoln. Jacquiline is the daughter of Larry and Rhea Martincic of Lincoln. She is attending Anderson University in Anderson, Indianan and planning to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing to become a Nurse Practitioner.

Courtney Mileham is the daughter of Angie Ritchhart and Eric Mileham of Lincoln. She is currently attending Lincoln College for her second year of the Nursing program. There she will receive her Associates Degree in Nursing. She will then attend a 2-year Nursing school to receive her RN-BSN. Courtney was sponsored by New Holland Unit #715.

Sarah Buchanan is the 3rd recipient of a $1,000 Nurses Scholarship. Sara is the daughter of Melanie and Joe Schaler of Lincoln and Dave and Bobbie Buchanan of Chillicothe. She is in the School of Nursing at Bradley University, studying to be a Nurse Practitioner. Sara was sponsored by the Elkhart Unit #616.
