[June 11, 2014]  LINCOLN - Building and Grounds Committee Meeting Logan County Safety Complex April 1, 2014

Present: Jan Schumacher; Bob Farmer; Kevin Bateman; Chuck Ruben
Absent: Andy Meister
Guests: Mary Kelley

Mr. Bateman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

A motion was made by Mr. Farmer, seconded by Mrs. Schumacher, to approve the minutes from the March 4, 2014 meeting. Motion passed.

Old Business:


Exterior Lighting of Courthouse: Deferred until next month.

Safety Complex HVAC: Bids are due April 2, 2014. The committee will open the bids during May’s Building and Grounds meeting.

Safety Complex Roof: The committee is holding off until HVAC project is completed.
Sandstone Step Repairs: The committee is holding off until the weather breaks.

Benches in Scully Park: Mr. Bateman took measurements of the benches at Scully Pak. The committee will discuss the cost during May’s meeting.
 


Logan County Website: Mr. Bateman is identifying the County’s needs.

Mowing Bids: A motion was made by Mrs. Schumacher, seconded by Mr. Ruben, to accept Flipper’s Lawn Care at last year’s bid. Motion passed. Bids will be requested for 2015 for a two year term.

Concealed Carry Signs: Mr. Bateman and the committee agreed to order all concealed carry signs for: Safety Complex, Airport, Animal Control, Courthouse and Highway. Plus ten more to have on hand. Mr. Bateman will get with Mr. Aukamp to see about making signs for the parks and airport.

New Business:

History Preservation Commission: Mrs. Schumacher read a letter from City of Lincoln about Historic Preservation Commission.
Utilities Aggregation: Mr. Ruben reported Utilities Aggregations will come to April 10, 2014 meeting. (Workshop Meeting)

Visitor Sign-Mary Kelley: Mr. Bateman yielded the floor to Mary Kelley to discuss the monitor she would like to put up in the courthouse. The monitor will hang in the front window of the courthouse. The purpose of the monitor will be for people to see if they have court that day. A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to pay up to $1,000 for mounting the monitor in the window. Motion passed.

Requests:

A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to approve Farmer’s Market in Scully Park. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mrs. Schumacher, to approve National Day of Prayer on May 1, 2014. Motion passed.

Mr. Bateman and the committee discussed where the new phone system should be paid out of. The committee agreed the money should come out of Building and Grounds 101-21-5102.

A motion was made by Mrs. Schumacher, seconded by Mr. Ruben, to approve the bills. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mrs. Schumacher, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting ended at 7:53 p.m.
