Multi-Platinum R&B artist Robin Thicke to perform at 2014 Illinois State Fair

[June 12, 2014]  SPRINGFIELD - Award-winning singer and songwriter Robin Thicke is coming to the 2014 Illinois State Fair. The R&B superstar, best known for his songs "Love After War" and "Blurred Lines," will perform at the Grandstand on Sunday, Aug. 17.

"I am thrilled to add Robin Thicke to the already amazing music acts that will be performing at the 2014 Illinois State Fair," State Fair Manager Amy Bliefnick said. "I believe fairgoers will be excited to welcome Thicke to Springfield and thoroughly enjoy his highly-energetic show."

After the release of his second album, "The Evolution of Robin Thicke," in late 2006, Thicke simultaneously topped four Billboard charts and won the VH1 Soul/Vibe award for "Best Breakthrough Artist."  Recently, he starred in the first season of ABC's singing reality show "Duets."  His smash hit song "Blurred Lines" won the 2014 Billboard Music awards for "Top Hot 100 Song," "Top Digital Song," "Top Radio Song" and "Top R&B Song."

Tickets for the concert will go on sale Friday, June 13, at 10 a.m.  They can be purchased through Ticketmaster either online (www.ticketmaster.com), by phone (800-745-3000), or in person at participating Ticketmaster outlets.

Tickets also can be purchased from the Illinois State Fair Box Office, which opens Monday, June 9.  The Box Office is located in the Grandstand on the north end of the Illinois State Fairgrounds and will be open weekdays, except holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  It will accept both in-person and phone orders.  The box office phone number is (217) 782-1979.
