[June 17, 2014]  LINCOLN - Shawn Taylor is excited about a new nation-wide program "Kids Bowl Free." Taylor has made the program available for the first time locally at Logan Lanes. "Kids 15 and under can bowl two free games a day all this summer," Taylor said.

The program is already open and lasts through Sept. 1.

Taylor, who has been running Logan Lanes for 30 years said, "This is the best idea for bowling I've seen in 10 years."

The idea seems to have caught on, as of Thursday 760 kids had been registered. With no pool available at the recreation center, he is encouraging parents, and even grandparents who are watching kids, "come use our free air conditioning."

All that is required to participate is for parents to sign kids up online at the Kids Bowl Free website.

There is even an opportunity for parents to get a special pass at only $24.95, so they can come bowl with their kids. Schools are even joining the program, Carol Catholic signed up.
