[June 27, 2014]  June 26 (The Sports Xchange) - Chicago Blackhawks stars Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews are both seeking salaries of $12 million per year, TSN reported Thursday. 

Right winger Kane and center Toews are eligible to sign extensions on Tuesday for the 2015-16 season. Toews and Kane each have one year remaining on their existing contracts. They signed identical five-year, $31.5 million contracts prior to the 2010-11 season that pays them each $6.3 million annually.

The Ottawa Senators agreed to terms with defenseman Eric Gryba on a two-year contract worth $2.5 million, the team announced Thursday.

Gryba, 26, would have become a restricted free agent on July 1. He had two goals and 11 points in 57 games this season. A third-round pick by the Senators in the 2006 draft, Gryba has career totals of four goals and 17 points in 90 games.

The St. Louis Blues re-signed restricted free agent Patrik Berglund to a three-year, $11.1 million contract on Thursday.

The contract figures were not yet confirmed by the Blues, but his salary next season is expected to be a $3.7 million cap hit.

The Detroit Red Wings re-signed backup goaltender Jonas Gustavsson to a one-year contract, according to reports.

The deal is worth $1.85 million. Gustavsson made $1.5 million in 2013-14, the second year of a two-year deal.

Defenseman Matt Gilroy left the Florida Panthers to join KHL club Atlant Moscow Oblast in Russia, the team announced Thursday.

The move came after Gilroy only made 16 appearances for the Panthers this past season, spending the majority of his time with AHL San Antonio. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
