"The Virden Coal Mine Battle of 1898," by Katie Hunsley. The display depicts the history of the battle between miners and strike-breakers in the late 19th century in Virden.


"What is the Orphan Train," by Rita Harris, depicts the children who were uprooted from New York City in the 19th century and sent to all parts of the country.

 

"What Was the Worst Naval Disaster in U.S. History," by Nathan Ford

"What Is the U-505," by Emily Messner — the history of the captured World War II German submarine that now resides at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
 

"The David Davis Mansion," by Lance Podbelsek — the history of the famous Bloomington mansion and current home of the Illinois Shakespeare Festival each summer.

"The Scully Legacy for Logan County and Illinois," by Ashlan Broom — history of the legacy of the Scully family, who transformed Illinois farming practices.
 

 


"The Importance of Route 66," by Tommy Dwyer — a history of the iconic highway that has become a must-see for tourists from around the world.
