Two Lincoln Junior High wrestlers move on to sectionals

[March 06, 2014]  Two wrestlers from Lincoln Junior High School advance to this weekend's sectional at Mahomet-Seymour.

In the regional, Tyler Werth, at 65 pounds, placed second with a 3-2 overtime loss and is now 16-4 on the season. Braiden Tisdale, at 90 pounds, finished first with a 6-1 decision and is now 25-4 for the season.

Coach Alex Dawson said that even though LJHS had only five wrestlers who went to the regionals, he's very happy with two advancing to the sectionals.

"Two out of five is a pretty good percentage," he said. "Coming out of a tough regional tournament that was held at Normal Parkside with the large Bloomington and Normal schools was not a(n) easy task with LeRoy also being there."
