ZLS students do well in Americanism Essay Contest

[March 07, 2014]  American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263 recently sponsored their annual Americanism Essay Contest, with 30 Logan County entries. Each of the top three winners in Logan County received a certificate and a cash prize from Auxiliary Unit 263. Marlene Schrader is the Americanism chairman.

Seventh- and eighth-graders from Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln participated in the contest, and six students received recognition.

Zion Lutheran School students won both first and second place in the essay contest. Kathryn Nobbe won first place and Katie Lynn was awarded second place.

ZLS students Emma Cooper, Emilie Messner, Elijah Burton and Ashlan Broom all received honorable mention for their essays.

After winning the local contest, Kathryns's essay was next entered in the district level competition.
