Support for Sheriff Steven Nichols

To the editor:

I am writing this letter of support for Sheriff Steven Nichols of Logan County, Ill. I have known Sheriff Nichols since 2002.

I have found Sheriff Nichols to be an educated and informed member of the law enforcement community. I work weekly with Sheriff Nichols as we are both members of the Illinois Sheriffs' Association. Sheriff Nichols' understanding of the trends in central Illinois makes him a valued partner as we continue to fight the crimes that plague our communities.

I have talked for many hours with Sheriff Nichols about the similarities and differences in both our communities and how we can best use the resources at our disposal to make Logan County and Peoria County better places to live, raise a family and provide a decent living.

[to top of second column in this letter]

I have known Steven Nichols to be a man of honesty and principle who is dedicated to the citizens of Logan County.

It is without hesitation that I say... Sheriff Steven Nichols should remain as sheriff of Logan County.

Sincerely,
Michael D. McCoy
