McCormick joined LCU in 2010 as an adjunct instructor in American
government. He holds a bachelor's degree in Christian education from
LCU (2001), a master's in education, a doctorate from the University
of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2003, 2007) and a Juris Doctorate from
Ohio State University's Moritz College of Law (2009).His
appointment to the rank of assistant professor was the result of a
recommendation process initiated by a committee of his peers. The
provost and dean of the school also have an opportunity to review
requests of individuals for faculty appointment and endorse the
committee recommendation, as happened in the case of Dr. McCormick,
according to Cathy Kissling, LCU associate director of academic
			services.

"McCormick was then recommended for faculty appointment by the
peer review committee to the president for his endorsement,"
Kissling said. "Appointment to faculty rank is an honor."
