William R. Shumard, 83, of Lincoln, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Lincoln- William R. Shumard, 83, of Lincoln passed
away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.
No Services are scheduled at this time. Cremations
Rites have been accorded.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the
Peasley Funeral Home.
William Russell Shumard was born on February 12,
1931 in Bement, Illinois the son of William and
Cassie Shumard. He was united in marriage to
Jacquelyn "Jackie" Brown. She survives.
Also surviving are his children: Douglas Shumard of
Lincoln, Trudy (Francis Greene) Shumard of McLean.
Five grandchildren: Caleb Shumard, Janelle Powell,
Jillian Ely, Shane Shumard and Megan Shumard. Three
great grandchildren: Memphis, Bellamy, Jemma.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son:
Kevin Shumard.

Mr. Shumard graduated from the Bement High School.
He then served in the United States Air Force for
four years.
He worked for General Cable for twenty - five years.
He was a partner in Greyhound Lube with his wife and
son: Doug. He loved talking about the truth about
God's kingdom. Loved His wife of 58 years Dearly.
Best Husband, Father, Uncle, Friend, Mentor to all
of us. We will miss him everyday.
Memorials may be made to the Jehovah Witness Kingdom
Hall in Lincoln.
