[March 13, 2014]  McLEAN — Sugar Grove Nature Center has announced two programs planned for March 19:

Little Wonders: Drip, Splish, Splash Water in Nature
Wednesday, March 19; 10-11:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m.
Ages 3-5 with an adult chaperone

Water is all around us, from melting snow to goopy mud. Participants in this program will explore the different ways water is found in nature and will create a splishy, splashy craft. They will also enjoy a wet snack.

Registration is required. Fee: $5 for child members of the nature center, $8 for child nonmembers

___

Woodcocks & Wine
Wednesday, March 19; 6:30 p.m.
Participants must be 21 years old to attend this program.

Woodcocks are ground-nesting birds that exhibit one of the most delightful courtship flights, just before dawn and at dusk. People attending the program will learn more about these fascinating game birds that return to fields, prairies and pastures throughout central Illinois in mid-March. Then the group will head outside to (hopefully) spot the woodcocks as they spiral toward the sky and fall to the ground.

Bring a lawn chair, wine glass and favorite wine. There will also be some wines to sample from local wineries.
