BLOOMINGTON —
In response to questions on what the upcoming 2014-15 season will
hold at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts, it has been
announced that the legendary blues artist B.B. King will take the
stage June 3 at 7:30 p.m. as an early kickoff to the season. |
From the 1950s to today, there has been only one "King of the Blues"
— Riley B. King, affectionately known as B.B. King. Since B.B.
started recording in the late 1940s, he has released over 60 albums,
many of them considered blues classics. B.B. has mixed traditional
blues, jazz, swing, mainstream pop and jump into a unique sound. His
singing is richly melodic, both vocally and in the "singing" that
comes from his guitar. In B.B's words, "When I sing, I play in my
mind. The minute I stop singing orally, I start to sing by playing
Lucille." This blues legend is performing throughout the Midwest
at larger venues and higher ticket prices. See him in the intimate
BCPA theater for the ticket prices of $73, $66, $59 and $49. B.B.
King is appearing with a special guest, 14-year-old guitar phenom
Tallan Noble Latz.
Tickets for B.B. King are on sale now and can be purchased online
at www.artsblooming.org, or by calling the BCPA box office Monday
through Friday at 309-434-2777 or toll-free at 866-686-9541 during
their regular 10 a.m.-6 p.m. business hours.
