Among those with displays in the student union were PrairiErth Farm, which was selling a new cookbook put together by Katie Bishop. During her workshop Bishop talked about the book only briefly.

She primarily discussed how her family uses vegetables grown on their farm year-round. She discussed spring, summer, fall and fall-to-winter later harvest vegetables that can be grown and used when they are freshest. She offered tips for preserving fruits and vegetables and also talked about how she prepares some of the more unique items they harvest.

Mac Condill was also set up in the student union, sharing information about The Great Pumpkin Patch as well as his garden seed company and bakery. At 11:30 the main cafeteria filled with guests who were eager to learn about the world of cucurbits.
