[March 27, 2014]  Below is a copy of the minutes from the Jan. 7 meeting of the Logan County Board Building and Grounds Committee.

Building and Grounds Committee Meeting
Logan County Safety Complex
January 7, 2014

Present: Kevin Bateman; Bob Farmer; Andy Meister; Chuck Ruben; Jan Schumacher; Terry Carlton

Absent:

Guests: Steve Nichols; Don Fournior

Mr. Carlton called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm.

Old Business:

1. Courthouse phone system: A motion was made by Mr. Bateman, seconded by Mr. Ruben, to wire the Zoning Office. Motion passed.

2. Exterior lighting of Courthouse: This project will hold off until the weather is nicer.

3. Safety Complex HVAC project: HVAC bids came in a lot higher than the board budget for. A motion was made by Mrs. Schumacher, seconded by Mr. Ruben, to go out for another round of bids. Motion passed. The board would like the new bidders to come to February’s meeting and the new bids will be due in March.

4. Bids for sandstone and step repairs: This project will hold off until the weather is nicer.

5. Benches for Sully Park: The committee discussed getting new benches for Sully Park. The board would like to purchase the same kind of benches that are around the courthouse now.

6. Logan County website: The committee discussed updating our website. The board would like to go out for bids to see how much it will cost them to update the website.

7. Courthouse IT budget: This item was not discussed and will be removed from future agendas.

8. Natural gas contracting: This item was not discussed and will be removed from future agendas.

New Business:

None

Requests: The committee requested that the County Board Secretaries e-mail and make a copy for the board members of all the minutes here on out.

Report from Dennis Reves: Nothing further to report.

Budget Review: No concerns.

A motion was made by Mrs. Schumacher, seconded by Mr. Bateman, to approve the bills. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Bateman, seconded by Mr. Meister, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting ended at 8:09 pm.
