Lincoln Area Music Society invites you to enjoy weekend concerts

[March 29, 2014]  Lincoln Area Music Society will present their spring concert this weekend, Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Lincoln Community High School Auditorium. The concert will include selections by the LAMS Orchestra and Chorale.

As part of the concert, the LAMS Chorale will present Rene Clausen's "Kyrie from Memorial." This piece of music was commissioned by the American Choral Directors Association to capture the emotional and spiritual elements of the Sept. 11, 2001, tragedy. The composition made its debut at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum in Moorhead, Minn.

The orchestra and singers will combine to close the concert with "A Tribute to the Armed Services," arranged by Lloyd Larson.

The public is cordially invited to attend.
