Lincoln College choirs present spring concert on May Day

[April 30, 2014]  The Lincoln College Fine Arts Department will present the annual Spring Choir Concert on Thursday. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Meyer Theater in the Johnston Center for Performing Arts on the Lincoln campus.

The concert will feature the 40-plus-member LC Chorale and the 12-member auditioned LC Chamber Choir performing a broad repertoire of classical, Israeli, gospel, jazz, pop and musical theater numbers in English, Latin and Russian.

The evening's program includes "O Fortuna" from Orff's Camina Burana, "Send in the Clowns" from Sondheim's "A Little Night Music," "Royals" by Lorde, "Some Nights" as performed on "Glee," and "Let it Go" from Disney's hit film "Frozen."

Soloists include Chase Doolin singing "Like a Star" and Skylir Kenning singing "For Good" from "Wicked."

Alan Rasnic and Emily Johnson will perform the duet "Say Something."

Percussionist T.J. Kissel and guitarist Matthew Sheridan will provide accompaniment.

Vocal director Cynthia Fox Fucile said the students have worked very hard this year. "I'd really like this concert to be packed," she said. "I'm so proud of the students, and it's going to be a great show."

General admission is $2.
