After having their season-high
three-game winning streak halted, the Chicago Cubs look to get back on
track when they host the Chicago White Sox in the opener of the
four-game, home-and-home series Monday. The teams will play the first
two games of the annual Crosstown Cup at Wrigley Field before shifting
to U.S. Cellular Field for the final two contests. The Cubs were denied
their first series sweep of the season when they lost 5-4 to St. Louis
on Sunday. Rookie Jose Abreu belted his league-leading 12th home run and
Dayan Viciedo also went deep as the White Sox snapped a four-game skid
with a 4-3 win at Cleveland on Sunday. Abreu and the White Sox will try
to keep Cubs right-hander Jeff Samardzija from getting into the win
column. The Cubs swept the four-game set last season, claiming the
season series for the first time since 2007.
