ISU Men’s Basketball Camps set for summer
Camps scheduled for boys entering first through 12th grades

[May 12, 2014]  NORMAL - Boys entering grades first through 12th can improve their basketball skills, while having fun and learning from student-athletes and coaches during one of seven Illinois State Men’s Basketball Camps offered by head coach Dan Muller and his staff this summer.

There is still time to sign up for all seven camps by registering via the Illinois State Men’s Basketball Camps official website: http://abcsportscamps.com/isumbbcamps . The website not only offers online registration, but it also includes important information regarding each camp. All camps will take place on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena – the home of Illinois State basketball – and at ISU’s North Gym practice facility, just north of Redbird Arena.

Baby Birds Camp I
Boys Entering Grades 1-2 |
Monday, June 9 – Thursday, June 12
9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

This camp will include various drills, lectures, stations, contests and 5-on-5 games, instructed by Illinois State men's basketball players and coaches. Each participating camper will receive an Illinois State Basketball T-shirt and an Illinois State basketball, as well as a camp participation certificate. Lunch will be provided for each day of camp, and parents are welcome any time throughout the sessions.
 

Day Camp I
Boys Entering Grades 3-8
Monday, June 9 – Thursday, June 12
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

This camp will include various drills, lectures, stations, contests and 5-on-5 games, instructed by Illinois State men's basketball players and coaches. At the conclusion of camp on Thursday, the tournament championship games will be played. Each participating camper will receive an Illinois State Basketball T-shirt and an Illinois State basketball, as well as a camp participation certificate. Lunch will be provided for each day of camp, and parents are welcome any time throughout the sessions.

Father/Son Camp
Boys Entering Grades 1-8
Saturday, June 14 
2 p.m. – 7 p.m.

This camp is designed for fathers and sons to spend an afternoon together learning the game of basketball from Illinois State men's basketball players and coaches. Each father and son team will be taught proper offensive and defensive techniques to take home and utilize when working together in the future. Camp will emphasize skill development, while incorporating fun contests between fathers and sons.

Shooting Camp
Boys Entering Grades 5-12
Saturday, June 14
9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

This camp includes specific drills geared toward enhancing your shot. Various drills, lectures, contests and games instructed by Illinois State men's basketball players and coaches will be offered. Parents are welcome any time throughout the sessions.

Elite Camp
Boys Entering Grades 9-12
Saturday, August 2
1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

This is an intense camp designed for players who are serious about playing basketball at the next level. The Illinois State coaching staff will be in attendance, running all of the drills, while instructing camp with a hands-on approach. Each participant will receive an Illinois State Nike Dri-FIT.

Baby Birds Camp II
Boys Entering Grades 1-2
Monday, August 4 – Thursday, August 7
9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

This camp will include various drills, lectures, stations, contests and 5-on-5 games, instructed by Illinois State men's basketball players and coaches. Each participating camper will receive an Illinois State Basketball T-shirt and an Illinois State basketball, as well as a camp participation certificate. Lunch will be provided for each day of camp, and parents are welcome any time throughout the sessions.

Day Camp II
Boys Entering Grades 3-8
Monday, August 4 – Thursday, August 7
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

This camp will include various drills, lectures, stations, contests and 5-on-5 games, instructed by Illinois State men's basketball players and coaches. Yaklich can also be contacted if a camper requires a special accommodation to fully participate in this activity or requires special dietary needs.
